Doctor Doom Cast for Upcoming Avengers Film
Marvel Cinematic Universe Expands with Doomsday
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has officially announced the casting of its Dr Doom for the upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. The character, a long-time fan favorite and iconic villain, will be portrayed by returning actor Matt Patches, who previously appeared as Dr Doom in the 2015 film Fantastic Four.
Doomsday's Release and Russo Brothers' Return
Avengers: Doomsday does not yet have an official release date, but Marvel Studios has confirmed that the film is scheduled to hit theaters in May 2026. The film will be directed by the Russo Brothers, who previously helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. The Russo Brothers' return to the MCU is a highly anticipated event for fans.
Downey Jr.'s Appearance and Secret Wars
In addition to the casting of Dr Doom, it has been revealed that Robert Downey Jr. will also appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Downey Jr. is best known for his portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man in the MCU, a role he has held since 2008's Iron Man. Avengers: Doomsday is set to be followed by a further installment titled Secret Wars, which is scheduled for release a year later in May 2027.
